Backgammon Rules – BACKGAMMON BOARD
According to the backgammon rules, the two players sit opposite each other (Black and White). Facing each player are 12 triangles called “points”, divided into two groups of six points by the “bar”. The six points on one side of the bar (the same side for both players) form a player’s “inner table”; the points on the other side of the bar form his “outer table”. The Backgammon Rules say, that the points are numbered 1 to 12 running from the inner to the outer tables.
Backgammon Rules – PREPARATION OF BACKGAMMON DESK

A player’s 15 counters (called “stones”) are set up on the board exactly as appears in the diagram. (The alternate colours of the points are decorative and in no way are related to the colours of the stones).

Backgammon Rules – BACKGAMMON OBJECT
According to the backgammon rules, each player must move his stones from the initial positions into the six points which form his inner table (5 stones are already there on a player’s 6 point) where they are then removed from the board. The first player to achieve this wins the game. Backgammon stones are moved from point to point around the board according to dice throws. White moves in the direction indicated by the arrows in the Backgammon Rules Diagram; Black moves in the opposite direction. Backgammon stones, if they can move, must always move in the required direction (no backtracking) and may only cross from one side of the board to the other side via the 12 points, as to the rules from backgammon game
Backgammon Rules say – to begin, each player throws one die. The higher number play* first, using the two numbers rolled for his first turn. On sub¬sequent turns each player will throw two dice.
Backgammon Rules – MOVES ACCORDING TO BACKGAMMON RULES
A backgammon player may move two stones (one for each count) or one stone the sum of both counts. Example of this backgammon rule with a roll of 6-3, a player may move one stone 6 points and another by 3 points, or he could move one stone by 9 points.
Backgammon stones may be moved to any point except a point which is occupied by two or more opposing stones. Such a point is called “made”. There is no limit to the number of stones on any point.
If a stone is being moved more than one count, each count must be taken separately (in any order) and no single count may end on a point “made” by the opposing player.
